WINERY WALKABOUT WEEKEND The Rotary Club of Rutherglen has its own special activities during the weekend... Country Fair Forming a part of the popular Winery Walkabout event, the Country Fair is held on the Sunday of the Queen’s birthday long weekend from 9am to 4pm.  Come along and grab a bargain from around 300 stallholders.  Produce and craft stalls, an animal nursery, a variety of food stalls, buskers and music make for a carnival atmosphere to be enjoyed by the whole family.  Stretching the length of Main Street, the Fair turns our small town of Rutherglen into a bustling place to be during the Winery Walkabout weekend. Free entry competitions include Barrel Rolling at 11am, where all competitors receive a complementary bottle of wine, courtesy of the Winemakers of Rutherglen, and the Infamous Grape Stomp commencing at 1pm. Something for every member of the family Wine Makers of Rutherglen Muscat Run Fact Sheet WHEN: Sunday Registration starts at 7:30am on the day – no preregistration is possible All RUNS start at 10:15am WHERE: Registration and Runs both start from the Rutherglen Memorial Hall HOW MUCH: $10 Entry for all RUNS for seniors, ages below 16 entry $5 RUN OPTIONS: The CLASSIC 10km Winemakers Muscat Run The 26th year for this event A challenging 10km course running past some of Rutherglen’s most iconic Wineries complete with a few challenging climbs.  Over $500 of prize money and prizes. Runner Categories: OPEN MALE & FEMALE VETERAN MALE & FEMALE UNDER 18 MALE & FEMALE UNDER 12 COMBINED FIRST LOCAL HOME, must live in 3685 post code area The 3.5 km Challenge A perfect run for the less serious runner. Open to all ages 1.2 km for the Kids For the 12 & under only.   A safe course for kids, following the bike path along High up to Ready St corner & back OTHER INFO: Both the 10km and 3.5km are run on open public roads. Traffic support is provided by the Rutherglen SES and police with corner marshals at key points. This is a fun event where all budding golfers have a bucket of golf balls and try to get one in the hole about 100 metres away.
