TOUR DE RUTHERGLEN 2010WARNING, THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A RACEThis year’s theme was 'ride the rail to gold” in Celebrating the 150th anniversary of gold being discovered and the opening of the Rutherglen rail trail. To help us celebrate, our participating wineries featured all things gold; award winning wines and golden drops. Riders were treated to a little piece of Rutherglen history, exploring our rich golden past. And what makes the Tour is the ‘special’ treatment you receive at each of the wineries visited: Special tastings with the Winemaker, behind the scenes experiences and special offers only available to riders. The ride is fully supported, let your support crew do all the worrying ... just turn up and enjoy the day. There is a sag wagon to pick up your wine purchases and yourself if you’re feeling a bit tired. If your tyreis flat or some running repairs are required our support crew is there for you, tools in hand. For those wanting to stretch their legs there will be a longer ride option with the potential for a quick trip interstate!Of course, there were the sumptuous breakfasts, scrumptious gourmet picnic lunches, the Saturday evening Winemaker's Dinner and Sunday Roll.
