The Muscat Run is a 1Okm run that takes in some of Rutherglen's scenic areas including wineries, backroads and landmarks. It is held each year on the Sunday of the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend and is sponsored by the Winemakers of Rutherglen.
Start Time: 10.15am Sunday 10th June 2007
Registration: Enter on the day. Registration commences at 9.30am at the Rutherglen Memorial Hall in High Street.
Cost: Seniors $6, Juniors $3
Prizes: $500 in cash and bottles of Rutherglen's world renowned Muscat Wine
Categories: Juniors, seniors, veterans and the first local home (Registration postcode must be 3685 for first local home).
Course: From the Memorial Hall go to the starting point which is in High Street near the old railway bridge. Follow High Street to the Convent. Turn right into Culbertson Street and then veer left into Campbell Street. Turn left into Barkley Street and cross through to the roundabout, over the railway line, past Chambers Winery to the Corowa Rutherglen Road. Turn right into Corowa Road. Turn left at Jacks Road going past Stanton and Killeen Winery. At the Murray Valley Highway turn left, past Campbells Winery, and then just past the winery take Ready Street West to the right - this dirt road takes you over hills and past the golf course. Turn left at High Street and run back to the Memorial Hall.
Water Stations: There is water available at the Memorial Hall and Water Stations at Stanton and Killeen Winery, and corner of Ready Street West and High Streets.
Course Supervision: The local SES supervise the race by providing the pilot vechicle and marshalling.
Presentations: In Main Street area around midday during the Country Fair.
The Muscat Run is a community project of the Rotary Club of Rutherglen.
